DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (DRBHU) was established on April 2, 2010, as the International College of Automotive (ICAM) with only 42 students from DRB-HICOM Berhad subsidiary companies' employees to begin with, and it became a full-fledged university in October 2015. DRBHU is owned by HICOM University College Sdn. Bhd (HUCSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad. The university is located on a 42-acre site within the DRB- HICOM Automotive Complex in Pekan, Pahang.
The university’s tagline, “University by the industry, for the industry," embodies its commitment to producing skilled professionals for the workforce and educating and upgrading the skills and knowledge of DRB-HICOM Group's staff through a curriculum that blends theory with practical application.
Currently, the university offers more than 28 programs, including foundation, diploma, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies, mainly through two faculties: the Faculty of Engineering & Technology and the Faculty of Business & Management. The university also offers a variety of Open Distance Learning (ODL) programmes such as Diploma in Procurement, Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health, Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Business Administration.
